Abstract

An accurate, sensitive, and rapid chromolith C18 high-performance liquid chromatography for determination of chlorzoxazone, indomethacin, and ibuprofen has been developed. The separation was performed on chromolith C18 column (100 mm x 4.6 mm) at room temperature using methanol: 0.1% phosphoric acid solution (pH 4.2) (70:30 v/v) as mobile phase at a flow rate of 2.5 mL min–1. Wavelength of detection was set at 215 nm. A linear calibration graph was observed in the range of 1 to 100 mg L–1. The limits of detection and (LOD) the limits of quantification (LOQ) of 0.08 and 0.25 mg L–1 for chlorzoxazone, 0.03 and 0.10 mg L–1 for indomethacin, and 0.06 and 0.20 mg L–1 for ibuprofen, respectively. The recoveries varied from 92 to 106%. The proposed method successfully applied to the determination of chlorzoxazone, indomethacin, and ibuprofen in pharmaceutical formulations.
