Abstract

Effects of the crude extract from Egg woman (P. amarus) on Complement C3 gene expression in liver and spleen of Nile tilapia (O. niloticus) by Real time Reverse Transcriptase Polymerase Chain Reaction (Real time RT-PCR). Experimental fish 15-20 g initial weight were fed for 3 week on diet containing P. amarus crude extract at 0 (control), 1, 5, and 10 g/kg feed. The analysis of data by ANOVA showed non-significant in every groups (p>0.05). The results indicated that 5 g/kg Feed of Egg woman extract tend to stimulate the Complement C3 gene expression higher than other dose. The result from this study showed the benefit of  Egg woman extract that can be used to improve the immune system of Nile tilapia.
